The proportion of unmarried people in the Irish Free State is greater at all ages than that of any other country. This fact is revealed by the last Irish Free State census, just issued. It is I also shown that there is a marked j tendency for marriages to take place 1 comparatively late in life. Eighty per cent, of persons between the ages of 25 and 30 years are unmarried. The next highest known percentage of male unmarried at 25-30 years is that of Sweden (64). The cor- , responding figure for England and . Wales is 45, and that for the United States 35 per cent.
