Mr and Mrs J. S. Burt, Auckland, a: spending a holiday at the Grand.

Mrs W. Stewart. Invercargill, arrived at the Grand on Tuesday for a holiday.

Mr and Mrs K. Taylor, motored from Ashburton for a short stay, and are at the Grand.

Mr and Mrs R. B. Bannerman and family who spent a week at the Grand, left yesterday for Gore. Miss J. Crust returned to the Grand on Tuesday after spending a few days in Dunedin.

Mr and Mrs J. Oakley motored from Christchurch to spend a few days, and are at the Grand.

Mr and Mrs Owen Howell, Otaki, who have been on a visit to So urn Canterbury, will return north to-day Mr and Mrs A. Otway, Wellington, who were the guests of Mrs Wigley, Park Lane, returned Lome yesterday. Mrs Leonard Wilson. Christchurch, and Miss Dunsford, are guests at Caaogan, Sefton Street. Mr and Mrs 11. WEDDING. HETHERINGTON—TAYLOR. The wedding was quietly celebrated at King’s School chapel. Auckland on the afternoon of April 21, of Miss Mary Elizabeth Taylor, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter Taylor, of Timaru. lo Dr L. Rexford Hetherington, younger son of Mr and Mrs F. W. Hetherington, of Thames. The Rev. Castle headmaster of King’s School, performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of daffodil and lime georgette. A deep scalloped band of lime georgette was inlet in the tight-fitting corsage, over which was worn a long-sleeved coatee, and the full flounced skirt , which fell in graceful folds to the I ankles, was finished with a scalloped hem. Her green felt hat was gathered in folds to the nape cf the neck, and she carried an ivory-bound prayerbook. In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Phyllis Hetherington, who was in an ankle-length frock of lettuce green georgette, finished in front cf the waist-line with an Oriental buckle. She wore a hat to tone and carried a slieaf cf autumn-tinted flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Dr Clare as best man. A reception was afterwards held at the home of the bride’s uncle and aunt, Dr and Mrs C. E. A. Coldicutt, of 82. Street. Mrs Taylor re•■i her guests wearing a frock ct black panne velvet and satin, with a black hat. and sable furs. Mrs Hetherington was in black floral panne velvet, with a black hat to match, and Mrs Coldicutt wore a flame and black crene de chene jumper suit bordered with Hungarian embroidery and a black hat.
