AMERICA BUILDING BIG SHIPS. (Unltad Preaa Aasoclatlon—By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received April 25, 5.5 pm.) WASHINGTON, April 24. The Postal Department Is arranging a contract for two new vessels for the New York to Southampton service, with a speed of 28 knots. The ships will be 45,000 tons displacement, and will cost £6,000,000 apiece.
