GIANT CLIPPERS OF THE CLOUDS.
Graf Zeppelin and RIOO. TO MEET IN ENGLAND. (British Official Wireless.) Received April 25, 5.5 p.m. RUGBY, April 23. Two of the biggest airships In the world, the British RIOO and the German Graf Zeppelin, wiir probably be seen, side by side, at Cardington, near Bedford, on Saturday. The Zeppelin Is coming to Cardington, to pick up Dr. Eckner, her commander, who has arrived in England to-day from America. She will arrive on Saturday afternoon, and stay about an hour. A large party, numbering 600 or 700 men, drawn mainly from the Royal Air Force, will handle the Zeppelin into the mooring mast. RIOO will be brought from her shed to the mooring mast to-night, if weather conditions are suitable, and may make a ten or twelve hour flight tomorrow. Once she has been brought out, it is unlikely that RIOO will return to her shed until after her trip across the Atlantic to Canada, next month. New engines of a later type have recently been fitted in RIOO, and these, as well as the envelope and wireless installation, will be under special observation during the flight. This will be the sixth flight of RIOO, and there will probably be others before she leaves for Canada.
The course for to-morrow’s flight will be decided according to the direction of the wind.
