LURE OF ATLANTIC FLIGHT.
East To West Crossing
KINGSFORD SMITH’S PLANS. (United Press Association— By TGlectrlo Telegraph—Copyright.) NEW YORK, April 13. The Operations Department of Roosevelt Field announces that private information received from London indicates that Squadron-Leader C. E. Kingsford-Smith in the Southern Cross, which has been reconditioned, will attempt to anticipate the French airman, Costes’s announced intention to fly across the Atlantic from Paris before May 8. The Australian’s plans for last year were abandoned and the aviator came to the United States by steamer, but it is believed that the desire to achieve the honour of completing the first westward flight from Europe to New York has induced Kingsford-Smith to revive the undertaking. He will fly from Croydon and arrangements are being made here for his arrival.
