Farewelled In London. DUKE’S TRIBUTE TO DOMINION. (United Press Association—By Etectrlo Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received April 11, 7.60 p.m.) LONDON, April 11. Three hundred attended the New Zealand Association’s dinner at the Savoy Hotel, to farewell the British Rugby team. Among the distinguished guests were the Duke of York, Lord Passfield, Lord Liverpool, Lord Desborough, Lord Ampthill, Sir Charles Fergusson, Sir j James Parr, Sir James Mills, General j Sir Walter Braithwaite, and Mr Percy Chapman. Responding to the toast of “The Royal Family,” the Duke of York wittily referred to his visit to New Zealand, He said: “The time spent there left a lasting admiration for its achievements and potentialities. X assure the sportsmen that New Zealand offers an all round scope. I sampled several sports, but was not allowed to stay long enough anytwhere to witness a cricket match. (Prolonged laughter.) “You will find,” the Duke added, “that the New Zealanders are as determined as hosts as players. I envy you the trip, and wish you good luck.” Mr T. M. Wilford (High Commissioner for New Zealand), read bon voyage 1 messages from the King, Sir Joseph Ward, the manager of the All Blacks, ; and the New Zealand Rugby Union.
