TRAIN HOLD UP.

POLICE WITHOUT A SINGLE CLUE. (United Press Association—3y Electric Telesr&ah—Ccmyriuht.) SYDNEY, April 10. An all-day search by detectives in the vicinity of the Mudgee train robbery, failed to reveal a single clue. When daylight came yesterday morning car and cart wheel tracks were discovered near the scene of the attack, which led to the bush where a wire fence had been cut, apparently by somebody anxious to avoid detection. However, it has been proved that the tracks had no connection with the bandits. The amazing getaway of the thieves is puzzling the police. The stolen bag had cash to the value of about £IB,OOO in it, £13,00 of which was in cheques which have been cancelled. BEHAVIOUR OF CREW. POLICE NOT SATISFIED. (United Press Association—By Electric Tel egraph—Copyright.) (Received April 10, 10.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 10. Detectives inquiring into the Mudgee train hold-up have formed certain conclusions, the result of which they closely questioned the train crew upon these aspects. They cannot understand why immediately after the bandits leaped from the train, the emergency brake was not applied, and further how the robbers were not injured jumping from a train travelling at least 28 miles an hour. Investigations are proceeding. The police have engaged blacktrackers at the scene of the hold-up.
