BURGLAR ON BICYCLE.

HUE AND CRY IN INVERCARGILL. Ey Telegraph—Presc Association. INVERCARGILL, April 10. Shortly before noon to-day, people passing the Club Hotel were amazed to see a man dash out of the corridor, hurriedly mount a bicycle, and pedal furiously along Dee Street, hotly pursued by a small army of waitresses and other employees of the hotel. The fugitive turned down Esk Street towards the station, and then went round the Crescent. He was last seen riding at a fast speed along Tay Street in an easterly direction. During his flight round the Crescent, one or two men endeavoured to intercept the cyclist, but the rider swerved past them. The excitement was caused by a man who had discovered in the servants' quarters of the hotel, from where sums of money are reported to have been stolen.
