I It is stated that the Federal GovernI ment has decided to grant assistance I to the manufacturers of newsprint in I Australia, probably in the form of a I bounty of £4 a ton on paper made in j the Commonwealth and an extra duty ! of £1 on imported newsprint. ! This follows the lines of the undertaking by the Bruce Ministry that aid would be given to local manufacturers conditionally on the cutput reaching 30,000 tons a year. PAYMENT BY RESULTS.
