ARUNDEL.
OPENING SOCIAL. The first of the series of fortnightly socials was held in the Howard Kali, Arundel, on Saturday evening. There was a good attendance and a very pleasant evening was spent. Mrs Turton and Miss Lewis tied for the ladies’ prize, and in a play-off, Mrs Turton proved the winner. Mr Jack Harold won the men’s prize and consolation prizes were won by Miss Pratt and Mr F. Ritchie. Music for a dance was supplied by Miss Turton and Mr Johnston. PERSONAL. Mr and Mrs C. W. Lynn, Temoana, accompanied by their small son and Miss Gladys Humm, motored to Christchurch on Tuesday to attend the Blake-Hardie wedding. Mr George Knowles, Temoana. and Mr Roy Hawke, Geraldine, left on Monday for Christchurch, to attend the Blake-Hardie wedding.
