THE WEATHER.
Dominion Meteorologist. A depression crossed the Dominion last night, but a secondary depression of cyclonic form remained off the West Coast of the South Island, and has deepened to-day. Pressure is rather low also in the western Tasman. Expect winds moderate to strong easterlies over Otago, elsewhere moderate to strong, and freshening northerlies. Seas rather rough south of Cape Egmont and Castlepoint; moderate thence northwards. Weather generally cloudy and unsettled, with some rain, heavy falls in parts of the northern half of the South Island, and thunder in places. Temperature warm at first, but later somewhat cooler.
