PLANS TO CLEAR OUT SLUMS.

LONDON, April 7.
In the House of Commons, Mr Arthur Greenwood (Minister of Health), moving the second reading of the Government’s Housing Bill, said the Bill introduced a new method of clearing the slum areas, simplified the purchase of homes and enabled local authorities to develop a coherent housing policy. A crowded House applauded the maiden speeches of Miss Megan Lloyd George and Mr Malcolm.
