ANOTHER CROSSING CASUALTY. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 7. Another level crossing accident occurred on the north line shortly after mid-day. Albert Tate, of Waimauku, was injured when the southbound train hurled his car into the air at the Waimauku crossing. The extent of his injuries is unknown. YOUNG MAORI SHOT. By Telegraph—Press Association. HAMILTON, April 7. Joe Rota, a Maori boy, 12 years, was fatally shot at Taharoa, near Raglan, over the week-end. Rota, who lived with an uncle, locked himself in a whare, ana shortly after a cousin, a little girl, heard a shot, and forcing an entrance into the whare, found her cousin dead with a shotgun near him. The police hold the view that the boy was playing with the gun when it accidentally discharged. PIERCED LUNG. By Telegraph—Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, April 7. Mervyn Evans, a High School boy (14), crawling through a hedge, lay on a broken bottle, which pierced the lung. He was taken to hospital, and his condition is reported to be satisfactory. CAR FALLS INTO RIVER. By Tsleeraph—Proa* Association. WELLINGTON, April 7. A motor-car with Mr and Mrs Kuhn, of the Queen’s Private Hotel, crashed through a bridge railing at Pahautanui and fell into the stream. Both were considerably injured, but the other occupants escaped.
