AMERICA’S BIG INCOMES.
Not Affected By Wall Street Crash. PRESIDENT HOOVER’S APPEAL. (United Press Association—By Electrle Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received April 6, 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, April 5. President Hoover announces that the treasury reports indicate that the income taxes of corporations, collected for the fiscal year 1930, will not fall below the 1929 collections, while individual income taxes will exceed those last collected. The President stated: “The result is most gratifying and indicates that the unfortunate developments, of last Fall, did not affect individual incomes to the extent many had feared, nor did they prevent corporations reporting substantially higher net incomes.” President Hoover stressed the importance of continued economy, and authorised the Road Construction Bill involving 375,000,000 dolars, which provide work for 125,000 men at once.
