ORARI BRIDGE
OPENING SOCIAL. The first of a series of socials was held in the Orari Bridge Hall on Wednesday evening, when a large number of people were present and a very enjoyable evening was spent. Competitions were won by Mrs W. H. Morris and Mr J. Sugrue. Music for the dance was supplied by Mrs Whitney, and Mr W. Ford carried out the duties of M.C. Daily Mail. At the beginning of April the new timetable of the daily mail service came into force, and the mail is now delivered in the,Orari Bridge district at about half-past eight a.m. Personal. Mrs Woodman, South Australia, who has been staying for some weeks with Mrs Mowbray Tripp, “Silverton,” will leave for Sydney on Thursday. HALL COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Orari Bridge Hall Committee was held on Thursday evening. The following were present: Messrs W. Ford (chairman), F. South (secretary). Pratt, Killiher. McLean, Scully and Morris and Mrs F. E. South. The following donated prizes:—Mrs Ford (ladies aggregate for the season), Mr J. McLean (gent’s aggregate). Mrs F. E. South (ladies’ aggregate for 5 nights) and Mr Pratt (men’s aggregate.). It was decided to have four more lights installed in the hall, and preparations were made to provide more accommodation for the large number of people who attend the fortnightly socials.
