SCHOOL PRIZE-GIVING. The annual prize-giving of St. Andrews School was held in the Public Hall last Friday evening. Although j delayed from last year, the function | proved an unqualified success. ! Proceedings commenced with a con- | cert programme, which was much ! appreciated by the large audience. | The following was the programme:— ; Piano solo, “Rondo,” Miss Joan Higj ginson; school songs, “John Peel,” I “Canadian Boat Song”; song, “Flight | of Ages,” Miss Jackson; whistling cong, j Mr C. Hansen; song, “Carolina Moon,” : Miss Ola Kennard; impersonation, Mr I W. Berry; songs, “Romance,” “Old Vir- : ginia,” Master Gordon Fowler; school ■ songs, “Spring Song,” “Rio Grande”; ! song, “Yeoman’s Wedding Song,” Mr i H. L. Wimsett; duet, “Let's Grow Old I Together,” Miss Jackson and Mr ' Jackson; song, “The Veteran’s Song,” , Mr Jackson”; piano solo, “Polka Capj rice,” Mrs T. Pooke; song, Mr F. Hansen; song, “The Barefoot Trail.” Miss Dot McCurdy. The accompaniments were played by Mrs T. Pooke, Mrs H. L. Wimsett and Mr C. F. Higginson. The prizes were presented by Mr J. D. McCurdy. The dux medal, donated by Mr C H- S. Johnston, was won by Daisy Bell. This presentation was made by |Mr F. Hansen. The children of the ; lower school were each presented with a bag of sweets.

Standard 4—Alan Spence, Esme Gray, Josephine Shea. Standard 3—Cicely Higginson, Willie Harvey, Nancy Toohey. Standard 2—Estelle Johnston. Sydney Luscombe, Beatrice Stowell.

Standard I—Elvira Dellow, Colin McMurchy, David France. I Supper was handed round, and the j floor was then cleared for dancing. Music was supplied by Miss C. Smalliidge, extras being played by Mrs H. L. Wimsett. The duties of M.C. were in the hands of Mr H. Edwards. The following were present:— Mesdames McCurdy, Bell, Kennard, F. Martin Pooke, Vincent; H.
