PLIGHT OF CHINA.
UNIFICATION POLICY OPPOSED, (tmltad Ptm» Association—By Ksotrls
Telegraph—Copyright.) PEKING, February 22. Chinese papers here to-day state that General Feng Yu-hsiang’s generals have issued a telegram supporting General Yen Hsi-shan, and denouncing President Chiang Kaishek, whose autocratic methods they severely condemn. “Chiang’s policy of unification by force,” the telegram says, “aims merely at the expansion of his own military power at the expense of other militarists whom he wishes to exterminate. The signatories, with a view to securing real peace, support the stand taken by Yen Hsi-shan, expressing their readiness to back him with armed force.”
