FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA

Flying Officers Piper and l£aye have repaired slight damage to their machine, and are expected at Karachi early to-day, leaving again immediately after refuelling.

Flying-Officer Piper and Kaye made a forced landing on the beach at Jask, just in time to avoid falling into the sea. Native chiefs encamped nearby rendered help, and towed the machine to the aerodrome. The landing was due to serious engine trouble. Spare parts for the Cyrrhus engine are unobtainable in India, meaning a delay of a week or more, while the parts arrive from England.
