DUST STORM
NINE TONS ON STEAMER. By Teleennh— press Association. WELLINGTON, February 4. An account of a terrific dust storm ] experienced outside Port Pirie (S.A.) ; was given by the master of the Angloi Canadian, which arrived on Sunday. It j was impossible, he said, to see a ship’s ! length beyond the bridge. The anchor | was dropped, and for fourteen hours i the vessel was swept by hot, brown i dust, which penetrated every crevice, j It was estimated that afterwards nine j tons of dust were shovelled overboard.
