MARKETING CHEESE.
DAIRY BOARD’S PRICES CRITICISED. By Telegraph—Pros* Association. INVERCARGILL, August 26. Strong * opposition to tlie Dairy Board’s new cheese contracts was expressed at a meeting oi factory directors, attended by -*i) representatives, one member describing a clause in the contract as “daylight robbery.” Mr T. M. Timpany placed the position of the Board before the meeting, and later retired on account of what hie deemed propaganda tactics by his opponents. A resolution was carried : “That this meeting, fully representative of Southland Dairy producers, being emphatically of the opinion that the proposed contracts for the sale of cheese and butter, are seriously opposed to the interests of the industry, strongly condemns the action of the Board in approving tlie' butter contract. We request the Board to withdraw acceptance of this contract, and not ratify any further sale contracts without referring the same to producers through their Dairy Associations.” The meeting decided that the South Island Dairy Association should advise all associated factories! not to effect any f.o.b. contracts, except under the terms laid down in the Association's present contract form, until new contracts have been approved by the Association.
