Sussex and Lancashire are now equal, with 132, in the County cricket championship contest. Wales, first innings, 249 (Ratdliffe 79); second innings 225 (Morgan 55; Bowes four for 38, Meyer four for 52). Marylebone, first innings, 179; second innings 256 for eight (Meyer 89; Barnes four for 63). The match was drawn.

Hampshire, first innings, 259 (Harfield 86, Mead 88; Leyland four for 61); second innings, 233 (Macaulay four for 70). Yorkshire, first innings, 270 for three, declared (Leyland 104, Oldroyd not out 100). Yorkshire won on the first innings. Surrey, first innings, 379 for seven, declared (Hobbs 128, Sandham 83;. Glamorgan, first innings, 168; and followed on, scoring 155 (Fender four for 54). Surrey won by an innings and 56 runs.
