CHILD ELECTROCUTED
CORONERS COMMENT. My T«l«r'*»h —Pre*» Aimu«U«. MASTERTON, August 24. John Maxwell Morison, a little boy of four, was electrocuted this morning in the home of his parents au Morison’s Bush. It appeared that the child turned on an electric switch w'hile holding the wires of an oven heating element of the electric range. The coroner (Mr J. Miller. S.M.), added to a verdict that the child had met its death through shock from an electric range, that there w f as not sufficient warning to users that, in certain circumstances, the handling or a range might be fatal. The sellers of such ranges should take steps to warn purchasers. The Coroner also recommended the Public Works Department to frame regulations requiring the protective plate over range elements to be screwed so that young children could not lift it.
