THE CHURCHES.

Services will be conducted by Rev. A. Begg at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Highfield, and at Rose Will tomorrow. The evening service will be choral, and Sankey’s hymns will be used. A sacred recital will be given after the evening service at 8 o’clock. The soloists will be Mrs Hollands, Mrs Mclnnes and Mr G. H. Andrews. A cornet solo will be played by Mr W. Osborne, and an item will be given by Mr R. S. Nicol’s quartette party. Anthems will be rendered by an augmented choir. A collection will be taken in aid of choir music. The services in Chalmers Church will be conducted by Rev. P. Gladstone Hughes. The subject of the morning address will be “Glorious Things of Thee are Spoken.” At the evening service Mr Hughes will preach on “Christ at the Door.!” There will be an afternoon service at Claremont. The services at . Trinity Presbyterian Church, to-morrow, will be conducted by the Rev. A. J. H. Dow. In the morning the choir will render the anthem “Sing Oh Heavens” (Sullivan), and in the evening “O for a Closer Walk With God” (Myles Foster). The pre-communion service will be held on Wednesday evening at 7.30. Holy Communion will be celebrated to-morrow at St. Mary’s Church, at 8 a.m., St. Peter’s and St. Michael’s at 9.30 a.m., St. John’s at 11 a.m., and St. Saviour’s at 7.30 a.m. The other services in the parish will be as usual. The Rev. Harold T. Peat will conduct both services in the Bank Street Methodist Church to-morrow. In the morning he will preach on “The Incarnation of the World,” and in the evening the theme will be “Christ’s Mission to Humanity.” The choir will render an anthem. The services in Woodlands Street Church will be conducted by Mr A. Stead and Rev. P. I. Cooke, the evening theme being “Confessing Christ.” Visitors are cordially invited to all services. The spirit of the recent mission will be retained at the Baptist Church to--1 morrow, when the Rev. C. W. Duhoumb will speak particularly to converts and those covenanted. Community singing of mission choruses will feature the song service. The preacher at both services in the Congregational Church to-morrow will be Rev. F. J. Shaw. The morning subject will be “Victims of Aimlessness,” evening subject, “Why is Modern Society Lax?” The choir will sing the anthem “Thine O Lord, is the Greatness.” Visitors are welcome.
