ORANGE JUICE STAIN.
This stain is more persistent after a fabric has been washed and ironed, so, if possible, wash out before it dries on. If this is not possible, soak the stain in warm water, and wash it out in lukewarm water. If the stain has been set by ordinary laundering, a bleach is necessary to remove it. Dissolve one teaspoonful of permanganate of potash crystals in a pint of water. Apply a few drops of this to the stain, and allow to stand until the stain turns brown. Follow this with clear water. Then apply oxalic acid solution to remove the brown stain. Then wash thoroughly in soap and water. This treatment is, of course, too drastic for fragile materials like georgette. HEART FACTS. Your heart is the central pump of your body, controlling the flow of its life stream. The heart weighs about five-eighths of a pound, and it about the size of the clenched fist.
When beating at the. normal rate of over seventy times a minute the heart will pump five quarts of blood. Often it is beating faster and pumping twenty quarts a minute.
