“MARBLE BAR.”
IN ASHBURTON RIVERBED. By Telegraph—Press Association. ASHBURTON, August 23. As a result of a raid by the police on a hut on the riverbed, known as the “Marble Bar,” Douglas Wilkinson was fined £25 on a charge of being the occupier of unlicensed premises where liquor was sold. The police stated that they found 166 empty bottles, ten whisky bottles, 79 full bottles of beer and stout, two bottles of whisky, ten glasses, with two bottle openers and a corkscrew.
