It is now learned that direct word has been received from London, which indicates that Mr Macdonald will be arriving in Washington in the first week in October, and is expected to remain about a fortnight. Plans for his reception are being made, but it has not yet been determined whether he will be the guest of President Hoover or Sir Esme Howard, British Ambassador to the United States.
It is authoritatively indicated that Mr Macdonald is endeavouring to hurry his visit to the United States, and hopes to sail within six weeks.
