ODDFELLOWSHIP.
LOYAL TIMARU LODGE. The quarterly summoned meeting of Loyal Timaru Lodge of Oddfellows was held on Wednesday night, when Bro. J. A. Davie, N.G., presided over 30 members. • Two new members were elected and I initiated, and another one was proposed for next meeting. The sick report showed that six 1 members had declared on the benefit funds and four had declared off. One of those who had declared on the funds was a new member, with only 12 days’ membership in the Lodge, who became seriously ill, and is now drawing the | full sick benefit allowance. Official reports from the Juvenile Lodges were very satisfactory. P.P.G.M. Bro. Edward Foden and Bro. George Drew were appointed official visitors to to the next boys’ meeting, and P.G. Bro. W. J. Tonkin and Bro. A. Strachan to the next girls’ meeting. A splendid report on the work of the dispensary was presented by P.P.G.M. Bro. A. Oborn. The F.S. Council report showed that the bed scheme is becoming more popular, and that many new members are joining up. Attention was drawn to certain stringent requirements in the new medical agreement, and compliance therewith urged by the secretary. The officers of the lodge were appointed a committee to make arrangements for celebrating the sixtyfifth anniversary.
The following were elected delegates to the district meeting: P.P.G.M.’s Bros. H. H. Brown, E. Foden and A. Goodall, P.G.’s Bros. A. Dennison and George Hayward, N.G. Bro. J. A. Davie, and I.P.N.G. Bro. Chas. S. Fryer. Accounts amounting to £163/1/10 were passed for payment, including three maternity allowances and one funeral allowance. Receipts for the evening amounted to £lB4/12/-.
