Britain’s Giant Aircraft. DESIGNERS’ CAUTIOUS POLICY. (United Press Association —By Electrie Tel egraph—Cop vrlgh t.) (Received August 21, 7.40 p.m.) LONDON, August 21. It is expected that RlOl will be ready at the end of the month, and RIOO early next month. For five weeks, mechanics have been busy inflating RlOl, at the rate of a million feet weekly. Six hundred men and 150 girls spent nearly two years building RIOO, which is already floating in the shed. To-day six engines were successfully tried out. RIOO is structurally the strongest airship in existence. The policy of the designers throughout has been to place strength before performance. SUCCESS OF ZEPPELIN FLIGHT. PROPOSED WEEKLY SERVICE. The successful flight of the Graf Zeppelin has hastened realisation of the establishment of a regular weekly service, necessitating the construction of three new Zeppelins, between Berlin, Leningrad, Harbin, and the Far East. OCEAN MAIL SERVICES. TRIAL OF GERMAN SEAPLANE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, August 20. A large German flying seaplane, Fohrbachromar, appeared over Norwich during a trial long distance flight from Germany. Later the ’plane flew at great speed over Hull. The seaplane was engaged in a fifteen hours’ test flight prior to the inauguration of a regular transAtlantic air mail service to South America. Two similar machines are ready to engage in the service. FLYING THE ATLANTIC. SWISS AEROPLANE NOT REPORTED. (United Press Association— By Electrie Telegraph—Copyright.) NEW YORK, August 20. The Swiss aeroplane which is on the trans-Atlantic flight has not been reported since early on Monday night. The weather conditions are foggy of, Newfoundland.
