A meeting of shareholders in the South Otago Freezing Company, convened on the initiative of one of the directors, was hold at BaJelutha yesterday afternoon, to discuss the offer of the di lectors to sell the IVorks to the New Zealand Refrigerating Company, and the Southland Frozen Meat Company, tor £60,000. Various alternative proposals were discussed, and finally a committee was appointed to ascertain the amount of support that would be forthcoming for the purpose of buying out investing shareholders and running the Works solely in the interest of the farmers themselves. The purchasing company has announced that it desired to run the Works to their full capacity next season.
