RAILWAY PROGRESS.

REVOLUTIONISING TRANSPORT. (Uaited Press Association—By EleetHe Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, February 24. The “Sunday Chronicle” says that the inventor Bennie has been permitted the use of a North-Eastern railAvay siding to carry out shortly a revolutionary experiment in the running of a cigar-shaped railplane, driven by air propellors, and suspended from an overhead monorail track, supported by trestles, which will permit of the construction of existing railways and roads. Mr Bennie claims that the machine is capable of 120 miles per hour, with passengers and mails. The design will allow cars to rise slightly by air, thus avoiding friction and weight on the rails.
