McDougall, totalisator proprietor, were each charged: “That on March 11th, at Christchurch, being servants of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club, they did unlawfully permit to be received an investment on the totalisator, otherwise than on the totalisator itself.” The cases were adjourned sine die •on the application of the Crown Prosecutor. (It is understood that the case arose out of the opening, at the Easter meeting, of a selling window in the members’ stand, as had been done previously by some other Club.) NEW ZEALAND CUP.
