GRAIN, SEEDS AND ROOTS. CHRISTCHURCH MARKET REPORT. Bjr Telegraph'—Preii Ai«oc!*tIo». , OHISTOHURCH, May 1. The offerings of wheat are freer than for some weeks. Prioes remain about the same. Good, milling Tuscan is being bought at 5s 7d to 5s Bd, according .to station, hut a good deal of out-of-condition wheat is being offered. This has been bought at 5s 4d to 5s sd, A few contracts have been signed up under the millers’ offer of 5s lid f.0.b., for Tuscan for next year’s crop, but so far there is no eagerness to accept the offer. Oats remain firm at 3s lOd f.0.b., s.i., for A grade Gartons, and 3s 64 for B grade. Offers from farmers are very small. There is no change to record in small seed values.

The potato market shows little change from the week-end. Forward bought lots continue to go north, hut it is expected that these will soon cease, and the market is then likely to steady. “Prompts” are quoted at £4 15s f.0.b., s.i., and June deliveries at £5. July-Septembers are quoted at £6 ss, but traders are holding off forward months. The Waipiata sails to-morrow for the north, and will probably take between 5000 and 6000 sacks. The following boat leaves at the commencement of next week. Up to date, potatoes have had little frost or cold weather to> ripen them off, and the present weather Break will be helpful in this respect. It will also suspend digging, which in any case was not being proceeded with to much extent at the current on-truck offers. CHRISTCHURCH STOCK EXCHANGE. TUESDAY’S QUOTATIONS.
