Edna Taylor' (20), of Addington, was slightly injured .lack Francis Andrews (24), of Louei Hutr, the driver of the car, escaped injury. , , , I*, was stated that the car was taken without tlio authority of the owner.

The search for the body of Tinalaka Kopani, a Maori boy wbo is presume, to have been drowned m a flooded stream near T'olnga Bay, was continued during the week-end. Kopani’s saddle was found two chains down the river from a ford where he attempted to cross ~ the Mangatakcrau stream, and his overrout was discovered further on neat where a horse had struggled out. During tlio week-end, George Oakley (20), single, third assistant at the Riverbank factory, Ngawapurua, was caught in belting and sustained a number of serious injuries. He was admitted to Paliiatua Hospital, and bis condition was reported to-day to be showing some improvement. FATAL MISTAKE. iljr Telegraph—Pr*s« Association. INVERCARGILL, October 10. Darcy Raymond, manager of Henderson and Co., at Wyndham, died suddenly on Saturday as a result of poisoning. Deceased, who was a single man, aged 50 years, had been tailing medicine for a complaint, and it is supposed that lie mistook the bottle. He was prominently identified with sport nd local affairs.

BUSHMAN’S DEATH. George Richard Wilkinson, whose skull was fractured by a fallen branch of a. tree while working at a sawmill at Stewart Island, died in hospital without regaining consciousness. Deceased, who was aged 43, leaves a widow and a 3'oung family. CYCLIST INJURED IN A COLLISION. "While motor-cycling, James Wilson collided with a car at a street intersection, and sustained a fractured leg and concussion of the brain. FATALITY IN MINE. By Telecrnph—Press Assnriation. GREYMOUTH, October 10. Duncan Tennant, an underviewer, was killed by a fall of stone in the Blackball mine yesterday. Deceased was aged 39. He leaves a widow and two children.
