CONTROL OF RADIO.
AMERICA’S DOMINATING TACTICS. By Cable—Prose Association —Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received Oct. 9, 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 8. European resistance to the American position regarding the protection of private radio companies, is apparently stiffening. Well-informed observers declare that although French private communication interests, represented at the Conference, are inclined more towards the American than the European viewpoint, nevertheless France will probably support the British and European attitude when the test comes. European quarters regard the placing of Argentina upon eight out of ten standing committees, and the large committee representation given other South American countries, as an attempt by the United States to win the general support of the LatinAmerican delegates for the American position. It is believed the Latin Americans may hold the balance of power in the Conference, should a marked division against European sentiment he created.
