WOMEN’S NEW FASHION.
FINGER-NAILS TO MATCH PEARLS. Finger-nails tinted, enamelled and polished to match the pearl necklace is the latest l’ad among women of fashion. . A new polish has been discovered which gives all the lustre and iridescence of pearls, and may be applied either with a pink tinge to matc.i pink pearls, or with the-pure crystalline sheen of the'oyster pearl. ' For "evening wear” many women have their nails dyed with a red polish. 1 The manageress of a leading firm of manicurists said to-.a “Daily Mail’' reporter yesterday: To be smart a woman must now wear her finger-nails, about a. quarter of an inch long, the effect being to make the hand look as long as possible. The filbert nail is .BtiU the ideal to be aimed at, but it is no use putting a pointed nail on a stumpy hand, which .-Would-.look just as ridiculous as- a Pierrot's hat on a little fat man. Extravagance in manicure will always; be sonsldered vulgar, That is why it : is considered so improper in the Western world to' use he'htta, although Tor. women of dark’colouring a red polish looks attractive for evening use.
