THAT SLENDER ANKLE
SHADOW EFFECT, The slender curve which in prewar times was frequently only demurely visible in the fair sex, inspired many a gallant compliment, and lyrical praise. To-day, when, even beyond the limits set by the graceful Court fashions of the 17 th century. Fashion discovers the contour more fully, it is the ambition of every woman to display a neat ankle. It is, therefore, good news that a stocking has been invented which may give slender ankles to all, and this without the discomfort of special dieting, or the taking of too strenuous exercise.
This new stocking is a masterpiece of shadow effect. ■ It is so made that the shadow concentrates finely in the region of the ankle, with fading-away effects to delineate a tapering contour, or, in other words, to show a slender ankle. Tims the desired result, as far as appearances go, is produced by simply wearing a stocking cleverly contrived, and which, by the way, all Parisiennes with not too slender ankles, are adopting with enthusiasm.
