SPRING GENEROSITY
BEAUTY’S FASHION MIRROR.
It is all very well for men to put a rcu ring ruiiiKi a certain date ou the calculi.tr aim say, ‘•Jliere, that is when spiiiig jr going lo start.’' Fur wo jno a it iloe.-.n't start then at all. It stains the moment a woman sees the new season s vanities. Sue LaUe* mine lrHeclions in her eyes amo Heart oi ihe.r new .Ic.iing be-.iuies beau fie.-, unic.i, given a generous husband, a measure of diplomacy, will a little later tie le dec tod in her mirror as well. , lliere is a generosity about this year s spring clothes that lasemates. iiandkerclncis have grown inLo bordered sli.-.wis. A jabot wou.d scorn to be an airy-iairy tribe of tr; is and lace that finishes half-way to the -waist. Now it cascades to the very hem ot a truck as epucmeral as itsoJl. Parasols are like a horticulturists dream. Their texture ami eoluurmg and design would make any woman insist on having at least one small hat in her summer hatbox, as an excuse to hold one of those exotic parasols aloft. This is the feverish season when reckless people go out- the day beloro payday and buy violets and boroma, am! buttons for their old, coats, and cheap hats that they hate the sight of in a week, and jumper >uits they intend to keep Liu next winter because they are bargains; such things as moths and warm days and mosquitoes at- night, and wet bathing suits have not yet entered their inner consciences.
But the warmer days me bringing such a wealth ot feminine fascinations into the range of vision of modern Eve that she will be bewildered in hoi choice. There are flexible, narrow meta’ belts of gold and si'ver which will be the only relief necessary on a well-cut frock ir. a new season’s material.
Hats will droop '.his -ninimer throwing shadows of mystery across eyes that last summer stoically forebore to frown in brim less hat.-,. Frocks will boast frills and hand-drawn thread wort; and lace insertions. Underthings will grow flimsier in material and pa'or in shade, and wraps for summer evenings will boast a touch of fur at neck and wrists in preparedness i'or a slight chill in the air. The really lucky woman, at this time of. year, however, i.s she who can conscientiously say that she has worn out her* last, summer’s frocks, and is therefore ready to start afresh with a repletion of her wardrobe.
