His Grace Archbishop Julius ii at present in Tiinaru. He will conduct the evening service at- St. Mary’s to-inorrow, and will return to Christchurch on Wednesday next. The Main Highways Board • proposes to construct an experimental roadway at Hornby, twelve chains in length and eighteen feet wide, with a view to testing different bitumen mixes. Five separate lengths, from li to 2 chains in extent, will be laid down, the whole of the cost of the work to be borne by the board. Mr James Maling, a former Mayor of Timaru, was a candidate for a seat in the Christchurch City Council at thig week’s election.
