STEAMERS BUFFETED. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 29. Owing to the heavy southerly _ gale, tho departure of the Ngaio ior Nelson lias been postponed till midnight. The coastal motor-ship Inaha arrived from Wanganui to-night, after a voyage from Wanganui lasting 24 hours. Mountainous seas and a fierce southerly gale was experienced. FERRY BOAT LATE. By Tolegraph—-Presfc Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 29. A southerly gale, with hail broke over Christchurch during the night; sometimes blowing with cyclonic" force. It still continues. The Maori struck bad weather in the strait and only arrived at 11.16—four hours late.
