The best man was Mr Jack A eland, of Christchurch, cousin of the bridegroom, and the- groomsmen were:— Messrs Charles Tripp (Timaru), Bernard Thomas (Christchurch), John Ormond (Wallinglord), Bevan Williams (Atna), Neil Watson (Wellington), Harold Pinckney (Gleuaray, Southland), and Dennis Ormsby (Timaru). The bride’s mother wore an exclusive model frock of sapphire blue chenille, trimmed with soft grey fur. Her hat of grey panne velvet matched the fur, and her bouquet was of cyclamen pink flowers. The bridegroom’s mother woro a handsome gown of black taflcta, with wide silk fringe, and embroidery in pastel shades. A black hat was also worn, and she carried a colourful bouquet. After the ceremony, a reception was held, a large number of friends being present. Amongst the relatives were Mrs Anson Horton, who woro black crepe de chine frock, with nnderdress of grey, and black embroidery, and a smart black hat; Airs C. Williams, who wore 'a beautiful shaded lace frock, in tones of violet, and a pretty black hat; LMrs Tony Wilder, in a model frock of henna georgette, with touches of blue, and a bine hat; Airs P. Wilder, wearing peach pink boucle, trimmed with satin of deepest .shads, and black lace picture hat; Airs A. Wilder, whoso black frock had an effective rose pink , ! panel in front, and touches of gold cmj broidery, with which a black hat was worn; Airs Ncilson, in a smart black and white frock, and a hois de rose I ; hat.

Later in the day the happy couple left for their honeymoon, which is to be spent in the north, the bride wearing a smart frock of navy blue crepe de chine, lightly trimmed with silver grey beads and touches of vivid cerise, and a chic little hat to tone with the frock. Her coat of navy blue repp was finished with grey fox collar.

DAVIE—HOLGARTH. Chalmers Church, Timaru, was the scone of a very pretty wedding on 13th April, when Alma Jessie, second daughter of Air A. B. and the late Airs Holgai'th, of 77 Arthur Street, Timaru, was married to Walter John, only son of Air and Airs W. Davie, of Grey Road Timaru. The Rev. P. GladstoneHughos officiated, and Air Craig presided. at tho organ. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a frock of white crepe-de-chcne, trimmed with silk lace and silver leaves. Her veil of silk tulle was arranged ivitli the usunl orange blossoms. Silver brocade shoes and a beautiful showor bouquet completed a charming toilet.
