MINIATURE RIFLES.

PAREORA CLUB. The annual general meeting of the Pareora Miniature Rifle Club was held in the Public Hal! on Thursday night, 21st April. The president (Mr P. Coote), occupied the chair. The balance sheet, which showed the club to be in a sound financial position, was adopted as read. On the motion of Mr E. Longman a hearty vote of thanks was extended to the president, the captain, and the secretary for the interest they had taken in the club during the last season. It was decided that three practice shoots be held, commencing April 26th, and that the official shoots commence on May 18th, and close on August 31st. The following officers were elected for the present season: —Patron, Mr Pearson; president, Mr P. Coote; vice-presidents, Mrs Randal Woodhouse and Messrs W. Morgan, F. Hanson, C. Brice, A. Wallace, E. W. Longman, R. Munro, R. Hawes, AMcKenzie; captain, Mr J. Bennett; vice-captain, Dir J. Mitchell; secretary, Mr A. Hall; assistant secretary, Mr C. Longman; trustees, Messrs P. Sinclair and A. Hall; auditor, Mr L. W. Longman; handicappers, Messrs S. Wilkes, I-I. Weenink, J. Mitchell; target readers, Messrs J. Mitchell, S. Wilkes; armourer, Mr H- Weenink; custodian, Mr L. Hayward; general committee, S. Wilkes, P. Sinclair, H. Weenink, J. Bennett, J. Mitchell, A. Hall, P. Coote; R. Munro, W. Koens, C. Longman.

After the election of officers, several matters pertaining to the welfare of the Club were discussed. The meeting closed with vote ; s of thanks to the “Herald” Company for publishing results, and accounts of meetings, to all donors of trophies, and to the president.
