DROWNED IN RIVER

HOKITIKA, April 7,
The body cf C. IV. Clonientson, aged about GO, was found this afternoon floating in the Hokitika river. It had apparently been ten days in the water. Deceased was engaged as canvasser for the New Zealand Shopkeepers’ Protection Association, with headquarters at Christchurch, with a petition to Parliament in reference to the Arbitration Court. He had not been seen in the last two weeks, and it was thought that he had gone to Ross, of which town he was a resident in the early days.
