FEMALE ASSISTANTS’ HOURS. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 21. Mr Justice MacGregor allowed the appeal by the Inspector of Factories against a decision of Mr Hunt, S.M., lidding that sub-section 3 of section 3 oi the Shops and Offices Act, which provided that no female under any circumstances may bo employed after 9.3') p.m., does include a female occupier of a shop or the wife of tho occupier. Mr Mahoney, for appellant, said it was finding guilty and Jiangi ng every female shop-keeper in New Zealand. His Honour said he had given his opinion. His biisujrss was to administer tho law.
