Loss of Life in Arkansas. MANY TOWNS SEVERELY DAMAGED. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. Australia and N.Z. Cable Association. NEW YORK, March 114. News from Little Rock states that 37 are known to be dead, 12 missing and over 200 injured as a toll o£ th» spring storms in Arkansas in tho las* 48 hours. The militia has been called out to aid in relief work, particularly since 750 homes have been wrecked and lire# at* spreading amongst the wreckage. Several thousand are homeless. Several towns, particularly Green Forest, have been practically destroyed, and it is believed nanny are injured. Many dead were found in the debris The greatest damage was done bv a tornado of twister formation, that sped with great rapidity along a narrow path, tearing up everything: in its way. Means of communication have been suspended, and rescue parties from nearby towns were orgairsed, only after news of the disaster was brought by refugee*. ,
