La Belle Otero (famous Spanish dancer) lecturing in Paris, attempted to justify her recent memoirs in which she narrated her world-wide courtships, including the story that she was served up as an aphrodite on a silver dish at a banquet. A few men applauded the stories, but the Women shouted disapproval, booed and hissed. The meeting ended in uproar.
