As a result of the gold queues, the Banque do France has so far realised 161,250,000 francs. (In September tho Banque de France intimated its willingness to buy gold and silver coins because of their metal values “with no questions asked.” As soon as the offer was made public a queue of 1500 people of all classes lined up outside the bank. The priocs given worked oiit at 114 francs 70 centimes for a 20-franc gold piece, and, 13 francs 25 centimes for the five francs silver coin. Tho coins sold included sovereigns, dollars, and florins.)
