KNOCKED OVER BY CAR. Mr J. McAuliffe, taxi proprietor, had the misfortune to meet with an accident about six o’clock on Thursday night. He stopped his car in Evans Street opposite Toynbee’s butchery, ami lift it standing on the left hand side of tho road ndiile he went into the butcher’s chop. On leaving the shop lie was crossing the road to return' to his car when another ear, driven by a lady, came along and ran into him. ' Mr McAubffe was knocked down, cut about the head slightly and severely bruised. He was taken to the T'.niaru Public Hospital, where lie is now making good, progress towards recovery.
