TENNIS.
FAIREIE CLUB. 1 The annual meeting of the Fairlie Tennis Club was held last week. In the absence of the president ’ Mr It. L. Banks presided and there was a fair attendance of members.
The report and balance sheet • for the year had commenced with a debit balance of £239 and ended with a debit balance of £lB2, the financial position having improved by £57. Rec./.pto totalled £122, and expenditure £65. Officers for the year were appointed as follows:—President Mr H. A. LeCren; vice-presidents, Messrs T. J. Seay'and It. L. Banks, secretary Rev. C. C. AVilcox, assistant secretary Mr M. Eagle, treasurer Mr R. L. Ranks, genera committee, the foregoing officers and Messrs E. R. Beckett, P. C. AVebb, S. K. Gillingham and It. B.Gillingham, Mrs AA’est, Miss Miller and Miss AA' rbford; captain, Mr It; Seay; ground committee, Messrs Beckett, AVebb and
R. ■ Seay; match and selection committee Mrs AAMst, I.liss AA r reford, Messrs Beckett and Banks; tournament committee, Messrs. Eagle, R. B. Gillingham and Broadhead; ladies’ tea committee, Mrs Broadhead, Mrs Tondro and Misses LeCren, N. Caskey, AA’reford and D. Bussell. The ground committee was authorised to proceed with the tarring of two .courts, and the fixing of the opening day was left in their hands.
