Following on an interesting health test, the Smethwick Education Committee decided to equip a number of selected schools with vitaglass windows, allowing the passage of ultra violet rays. The new glass was installed in a single classroom nine months ago, and a class of boys, aged nine to eleven, were subject to careful observation. The test showed that all pupils gained considerably more height, weight and colouring matter in the blood, than the boys in the adjoining classroom, v r ith ordinary class windows, which cut out the ultra violet rays almost completely.
