The coal strike position is unaltered, but it is generally expected that- the compulsory conference to be held on Monday will result in a settlement ot tlic trouble. The restrictions placed on gas consumers in, Sydney resulted in n reduction of 30 per cent, in the gasworks output. AVith tho arrival of a shipment of coal, and a promise of further supplies, Ihe restrictions arc being interpreted liberally.
